The Altdorf Regional Court was an older Bavarian regional court that existed from 1808 to 1879 and was based in Altdorf in what is now the Nürnberger Land district . In the Kingdom of Bavaria , the regional courts were judicial and administrative authorities, which were replaced in administrative matters by the district offices in 1862 and in legal matters by the local courts in 1879 .

location

The Altdorf regional court bordered the Schwabach regional court in the west, the Nuremberg regional court in the north-west, the Lauf regional court in the north, the Hersbruck regional court in the northeast and the Upper Palatinate in the east and south .

history

In 1808, in the course of the administrative restructuring of Bavaria, the Altdorf district court was established, which was part of the Pegnitz district . The official seat of the regional court was in the former Altdorf Nursing Castle , the seat of the former Altdorf Nursing Office . The district court was divided into 18 tax districts and 37 municipalities were formed (see below). In 1810 the Altdorf District Court came to the Rezatkreis after the Pegnitzkreis was dissolved .

The community of Egensbach was incorporated into Offenhausen before 1840.

In 1840 the Altdorf Regional Court was 5 12 square miles in size. There were 14,640 inhabitants, of which 346 were Catholics and 14,294 Protestants. There were 113 localities: 1 town, 1 market, 8 parish villages , 2 church villages , 26 villages , 45 hamlets and 31 wastelands . There were a total of 36 municipalities: 1 magistrate 3rd class, 1 market municipality and 34 rural municipalities. In 1862 the regional courts of Nuremberg and Altdorf were combined in administrative terms to form the Nuremberg District Office . On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court was set up in Altdorf , the district of which was formed from the district of the regional court, which was also repealed.
