Reuth is one of 17 districts in the community of Leinburg in Middle Franconia .

geography

The hamlet lies between Weigenhofen and Gersdorf on the eastern slope of Moritzberg and on the northern slope of Reuther Berg. The place is located about three kilometers northeast of the center of Leinburg and is at an altitude of 419 m above sea level. NHN .

history

The first documentary mention of the place dates back to the 13th century. South of Reuth there was a village called Gunzenberg in the Middle Ages , whose courtyards were assigned to the convent of Engelthal Monastery . These were abandoned before 1350 and Gunzenberg became a desert.

As a result of the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , Reuth became part of the independent rural community of Gersdorf with the second municipal edict, which also included the villages of Gersberg and Pötzling . In the course of the municipal territorial reform in Bavaria carried out in the 1970s , Reuth was incorporated into the municipality of Leinburg on May 1, 1978 together with the entire municipality of Gersdorf. In 1987 Reuth had 17 residents.
