Krämersweiher is a waterworks that belongs to the community of Leinburg and serves to supply the city of Nuremberg with water .
geography
The waterworks Krämersweiher is designated by the municipality of Leinburg as one of its 20 districts, but is not named as an official part of the municipality. The plant is located in the Nuremberg Reichswald and consists of only one pumping station for the Nuremberg water supply, which is located at the northwestern end of the outflowing valley of origin . To the east of Krämerweiher, this valley forms a gorge cut deep into the Reichswald and has served as a water supply for the city of Nuremberg since 1885. The waterworks has the postal address "Krämersweiher 1" and is located about two kilometers west-southwest of the center of Leinburg at an altitude of 384 m above sea level. NHN , immediately south of the Haidelbach and opposite the Fuchsmühle .
history
The waterworks located in the south-western part of the Leinburg district was built after the city of Nuremberg acquired a headwaters east of the plant in 1888 and built a pumping station to develop it in 1892/93 . The extensive history of the waterworks was written on the occasion of the 125th anniversary in 2018.
