Wilhelm Ernsthausen

Wilhelm Ernsthausen (born July 8, 1902 in Bucharest , † May 12, 1966 in Karlsruhe ) was a German professor of electrobiology and biophysical measurement technology.

Life

Wilhelm Ernsthausen, son of the gamekeeper and hunter of the same name and of Berta geb. Hansen, studied in Cologne and Karlsruhe . From 1927 to 1935 he was a research assistant in Karlsruhe. From 1935 to 1943 he was a researcher and department head of the German Research Institute for Aviation in Berlin . He received his doctorate in 1936 and qualified as a professor in 1941. From 1943 to 1945 he headed the Helmholtz Institute (Reich Office for High Frequency Research) in Berlin. From 1946 to 1948 he worked at the Aeronautical Medical Institute of the US Air Force in Wright Field , Ohio . From 1952 he was a private lecturer , from 1958 full professor and from 1961 senator in Karlsruhe.

In 1954 he was awarded the Freudenberg Prize of the TH Karlsruhe.
