geography

The place is in the east of Nuremberg and is completely surrounded by the Lorenzer Reichswald . Neighboring communities are (following clockwise and starting in the north) the community-free area Brunn , the Leinburg district Fuchsmühle , the Nuremberg district Netzstall and the community-free area Fischbach . To the west of the 438-meter high mountain rises Brunner, east leading A 3 and the bitch ditch past which, like the north of the town runs clean ditch east of the highway from the left in the Röthenbach flows.

history

The first mention of the former Veste Brunn, which was administered by the Waldstromern , dates back to 1347. The property was pledged to the Nuremberg burgraves in 1360 together with Netzstall and sold in 1516 to the Heilig-Geist-Spital . In 1796 the village was occupied by the Prussian Ansbach-Bayreuth and finally had to be handed over to the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1806 with the province of Ansbach . In 1816, Brunn was merged with Netzstall to form a municipality that was incorporated into Nuremberg on July 1, 1972 as part of the municipal reform .

The castle Brunn was in 1347 first mentioned and until the 14th century hunting residence of emperors and kings. The castle was destroyed in 1449 during the First Margrave War. Today there are only traces of the terrain. An anonymous copper engraving from 1728 published by Johann David Köhler provides information about the layout of the complex.

traffic

The center is crossed by the connecting road Fischbach-Leinburg (Brunner Hauptstrasse and Heiligenmühlstrasse) and accessed by the city bus line 54.
