location
The Kettelersiedlung is in the south of Trierer Straße. It covers the area between the Trier, Kornburger and Saarbrückener Strasse in Nuremberg .
history
There was already settlement activity on the site in 1930. A MAN settlement planned in 1932 did not materialize. In 1937 the area was incorporated into Nuremberg. The foundation stone for the construction of the settlement by Archbishop Joseph Otto Kolb (1881–1955) was laid on August 23, 1949. The origin and name is owed to the Ketteler factory and the St. Joseph Foundation of the Archdiocese of Bamberg . The residential buildings are two-storey semi-detached and terraced houses. In 1960 there were 533 houses with 1027 apartments.
Churches
The Catholic St. Rupert Church is located on the corner of Königshammerstrasse and Leerstetter Strasse.
