Greuth is the southernmost place in the city of Nuremberg and, as District 497, is part of the Statistical District 49 ( Kornburg , Worzeldorf ).
location
Greuth is located south of the city of Nuremberg near the Main-Danube Canal and on the A 6 , southeast of Katzwang and west of Kornburg. The only village street bears the name of the place. The VAG has a bus stop with the same name at St 2407 (Neuseser Straße).
history
The oldest sources about the clearing village Gerivte , which is subject to interest at Kloster Ellwangen, date from the beginning of the 13th century. Since the 14th century, the Ebrach monastery exercised the basic rule and the village and community rule was the Ebrach office of Katzwang. In terms of parish law, the hamlet with five courtyards belonged to the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Katzwang. As part of the municipality of Katzwang, Greuth was incorporated into Nuremberg together with the latter in 1972.
