history
The Klingenhof district has been part of the Nuremberg urban area since 1899 and is named after a farm of the same name that no longer exists and was located in the area of today's Klingenhofstrasse. Klingenhof is located east of the Herrnhütte district and is delimited to the west by Äußere Bayreuther Strasse and to the east by the Graefenbergbahn . Most of Klingenhof is designated as an industrial area, but there are also some residential complexes, especially along the Äußere Bayreuther Straße. Fritz Neumeyer founded the cable and metal works Neumeyer AG in this district . In addition, the United Margarinewerke (Resi) were located in Klingenhof until production was discontinued in 1972. Today the area is mainly used for leisure events (discos and bars).
