history

Old sewer

The origin of Pfeifferhütte is in the year 1714. With the approval of the margravial chief magistrate von Burgthann, the blind Michael Götz was able to build a begging hut below Lindelburg. He supported himself and his family by making “earthen tobacco pipes ”. In addition, he dealt with the production of pine oil and car lubricant. That is why the name Pechhütte was used for the place. Later craftsmen, farmers and a landlord settled here. The soil was too barren for agriculture. Today mainly commuters inhabit the village with the now closed school camp Pfeifferhütte and the Pfeifferhütter Schützenverein , from which German champions have already emerged.

The Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal , built from 1835 to 1846, led south past Pfeifferhütte and there was a loading point (anlände) for goods handling . This served mainly for the export of forest and agricultural products and the import of coal and building materials. In 1950, the Ludwig Canal was closed again, the landing was ruinous and today as well as the condition in the municipality remained locks 36 - 43 and Muehlbach dam under monument protection .

Pfeifferhütte belonged to the municipality of Lindelburg , which was incorporated into Schwarzenbruck on January 1, 1972.
