from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lindelburg is the name of a place in the district of Nuremberg . Until 1972 he had the status of a parish. Today the area belongs to the community of Schwarzenbruck in the district of Nürnberger Land .

geography

Lindelburg is characterized by a village. The place is southeast of Schwarzenbruck and southwest of Burgthann . It consists of the districts Oberlindelburg and Unterlindelburg . Also closely connected to Lindelburg is the Pfeifferhütte , which is located lower on the thoroughfare from Schwarzenbruck to Neumarkt , which used to belong to the municipality of Lindelburg. From the direction of Nuremberg, Lindelburg can practically only be reached via Pfeifferhütte. The Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal with numerous listed locks also runs through Pfeifferhütte .

history

The Lindelburg, originally called Lindelberg , was first mentioned in a document in 1295; there was never a castle there. In 1367 seven farmers lived there who belonged to Wendelstein church and were only assigned to the nearer Oberferrieden in modern times . In 1732 there were eight properties in Oberlindelburg and ten in Unterlindelburg. They all belonged to the Nuremberg landlords.

Pfeifferhütte was built in 1714. It was originally a beggar's hut on the road from Nuremberg to Regensburg. The growing place was under the supervision of the margravial forest administration. The project of a planned village from 1728 was never realized.

The Lindelburg community was dissolved on January 1, 1972. The three municipalities are now districts of the municipality of Schwarzenbruck .

It is noteworthy that in Lindelburg, although the place has been growing for decades, there is no local supply. Since the turn of the millennium, however, the local farmers have increased their numbers of Icelandic horses considerably, probably with a view to the future market for weekend tourism. Several attractive walks lead from Lindelburg through the surrounding forests, including to the Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal .
