The Oberamt Roth was one of the 15 administrative areas of the Principality of Ansbach .

history

Originally, Roth was owned by the Bamberg Cathedral Monastery. The “advocatia Rote” is spatially circumscribed in a deed from 1190. The area included Belmbrach, Bernlohe, Birckach, Brunnau, Eichelburg, Hofstetten, Kronmühle, Leerstetten, Leonhardsmühle, Mauk, Obere Mühle, Polsdorf, Pruppach, Untere Mühle, Untersteinbach an der Haide and Wernsbach. From 1791/92 the principality of Ansbach was administered by the Prussian state as Ansbach-Bayreuth . With that the Oberamt Schwabach became part of the Gunzenhausen district .
