Location of Friedrichsgmünd in Bavaria

Friedrichsgmünd was a district of the community Georgensgmünd in the Central Franconian district of Roth in Bavaria . It is spatially merged with Georgensgmünd and is no longer recognizable as a separate location and is also not signposted. Friedrichsgmünd is home to the market square, town hall and schools of the Georgensgmünd community.

Geographical location

The former village was on the Franconian Rezat , which unites 0.2 km further east with the Swabian Rezat to Rednitz . The place was surrounded by meadows: in the northwest the "Radwiesen" bordered, in the southeast the "Lehbihl", in the east the "Lehbihlwiesen" and in the north the municipal Espan . Today the entire area is incorporated into the Georgensgmünd district.

history

Originally the place only consisted of a hunting lodge that the Ansbach Margrave Albrecht II had built for himself in 1666. The place was named after his son Johann Friedrich . In the upper office Descriptions of the year 1732 by Johann Georg Vetter there were 10 property, including a brewery with in Frederick Gmund Tafernwirtschaft , an iron hammer , an iron melt in their place the following year Lower paper mill was built, and a brick cottage . At this time the administrative office in Friedrichsgmünd was founded.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 27 properties in Friedrichsgmünd (4 houses, 14 half houses, 6 quarter houses, 1 tavern, 1 paper mill, 1 iron hammer). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Roth . The Brandenburg-Ansbach administrative office in Friedrichsgmünd held the village and community rulership as well as the lordship over all properties. In 1800 there should have been 19 properties in the village.

As part of the municipal edict , Friedrichsgmünd was assigned to the Georgensgmünd tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Friedrichsgmünd, founded in 1811 .

In 1925 Friedrichsgmünd was incorporated into Georgensgmünd.

The place has been predominantly Protestant since the Reformation. The residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Georg (Georgensgmünd) , the residents of the Roman Catholic denomination to St. Wunibald (Georgensgmünd) .
