history

The upper paper mill was first mentioned in a document in 1709. The mill was also listed in Johann Georg Vetter's descriptions of the Oberamts from 1732 .

Towards the end of the 18th century the Upper Paper Mill belonged to Georgensgmünd. There was an estate. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Roth . The paper mill, which was also a half-yard, was owned by the Roth Kastenamt as landlord . Under the Prussian administration (1792–1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, the Upper Paper Mill was given house number 86 in Georgensgmünd.

As part of the municipal edict, Obere Papiermühle was assigned to the Georgensgmünd tax district formed in 1808 . She also belonged to the rural community Georgensgmünd founded in 1811 .

In 1796 the mill burned down. It was only rebuilt in 1826. In 1872, paper production was stopped, and bronze production began in 1875, which has now also been stopped. The original building has been demolished.
