Oberamt Roth
The Oberamt Roth was one of the 15 administrative areas of the Principality of Ansbach .
history
Originally, Roth was owned by the Bamberg Cathedral Monastery. The “advocatia Rote” is spatially circumscribed in a deed from 1190. The area included Belmbrach, Bernlohe, Birckach, Brunnau, Eichelburg, Hofstetten, Kronmühle, Leerstetten, Leonhardsmühle, Mauk, Obere Mühle, Polsdorf, Pruppach, Untere Mühle, Untersteinbach an der Haide and Wernsbach. As Hochstiftsvögte, the Lords of Abenberg exercised the bailiwick rights. As a result, the burgraviate of Nuremberg received the office of Roth from the Bamberg monastery as a man fief . The Office of Roth has belonged to the Margraviate of Ansbach since 1417 .
In the 18th century, the Roth Oberamt was subdivided into the Roth caste office, Roth city judge, Georgensgmünd judge and Friedrichsgmünd administrator.
Most recently, the sovereignty ( high court , lower court outside the Etter , church sovereignty , tax sovereignty, etc.) extended to an area that roughly corresponded to today's political communities of Roth and Georgensgmünd.
