The western local area

Rothaurach is a district of Roth in the district of Roth in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village lies on the state road between Roth and Abenberg (Äußere Abenberger Straße), about two kilometers southwest of Roth. The Aurach , a left tributary of the Rednitz , flows through it. The “Rothauracher Holz” borders in the south-west, the “Hermeslohe” in the west and the “Ried” in the north-west. In the north is the "Lache" corridor area, in the east the "Steinig" corridor area. The forest area "Auf der Schanze" lies in the southeast. There the Wallenberg rises ( 378  m above sea level ). The state road 2220 leads to Roth (2.6 km northeast) or the state road 2224 crosses to Aurau (2.5 km west). A community road runs to Büchenbach (2.6 km north).

The old village center is north of the Äußere Abenberger Straße along the road to Büchenbach , which crosses the Aurach roughly in the old village center. In addition to an inn and a further, no longer used restaurant building, there are mainly agricultural farms in the typical regional sandstone construction . In the Aurach Valley there is a former mill that was once in operation for the power supply. It is still inhabited.

The new settlement south of the Äußere Abenberger Straße consists mainly of detached and semi-detached single and two-family houses, as well as a few multi-family houses. In the east, in the direction of Roth, the Pfeiffersgärtlein settlement was built with uniformly designed row houses.

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1339 as "ze Aurach", and in 1434 for the first time as "Rotawrach" to better distinguish it from similar places in the area.

The place originally belonged to Ramung von Kammerstein . Its castle with all its possessions, including Rothaurach, fell back to the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation in the period that followed. In the 13th century the place probably consisted of 12 whole courtyards. In 1299 Rothaurach was pledged to Emicho von Nassau , whose family finally sold the property to the Burgraves of Nuremberg in 1364 .

In the land register for the castle count's office in Schwabach, which was set up in 1410, 3 estates, 3 half estates and 4 Selden estates were given for Rothaurach. According to the land register of the now margravial office of Schwabach, which was set up in 1434, there were 17 or 18 properties in the village, of which 11 and 12 were margravial and 6 foreign lords. In 1530 the margrave owned 5 farms, 1 barren farmstead and 4 estates. 9 properties were owned by foreigners. In the 16-point report for the Roth Oberamt from 1608 there were 22 properties in Rothaurach, 1 of which was subordinate to the Roth caste office. According to Johann Georg Vetter's descriptions of the Oberamts of 1732 , there were 16 properties in Rothaurach, 10 of which were margravial ( Kastenamt Schwabach : 4, Kastenamt Roth : 3, Gottheshaus Roth: 3) and 6 were Nuremberg (Spital Nürnberg, Landesalmosenamt, St. Klara- Klosteramt, Tucher, Imhoff, Fürer).

At the end of the 18th century there were 23 properties and a community shepherd's house in Rothaurach. The high court north of the Aurach exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Schwabach , the high court south of the Aurach the Oberamt Roth . The village and community rulership was held by the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste office in Schwabach . The landlords were the principality of Ansbach (15 properties; caste office Roth : 1 Köblergut ; taxable to caste office Roth and the church Roth payable with interest and hand wages: 1 Köblergut, 2 Gütlein; Kastenamt Schwabach: 1 whole courtyard, 3 whole courtyards with additional building, 1 half courtyard, 1 Köblergut , 3 Gütlein, 1 Gütlein with cone management, 1 empty house ), the imperial city of Nuremberg ( State Almosenamt : 2 half courtyards; St. Klara Monastery Office : 1 Gütlein; St. Katharina Monastery Office : 1 whole courtyard) and Nuremberg owners ( from Fürer : 1 half courtyard; von Imhoff : 2 half yards; von Tucher : 1 estate with grinding mill).

In 1806 Rothaurach came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, the Rothaurach tax district was formed in 1808 , to which Kauernhofen belonged. In 1811 the rural community of Rothaurach was formed, which was congruent with the tax district. In administration and jurisdiction, it was subordinate to the Pleinfeld Regional Court ( renamed the Roth Regional Court in 1858 ) and the financial management of the Spalt Rent Office ( renamed the Spalt Tax Office in 1920 ). In 1861, Roth Bahnhof was founded in the community area . From 1862 Rothaurach was administered by the Schwabach District Office (renamed the Schwabach District in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained until 1879 the District Court Roth, 1880 at the District Court Roth . The community originally had an area of 8.843 km². After 1900, but before 1904, Kauernhofen and Roth Bahnhof was changed to Roth, which reduced the area of the municipality to 7.196 km². In 1932 the Spalt tax office was dissolved. Since then, Rothaurach has been subordinate to the Schwabach tax office . In 1961 the municipality had an area of 6.975 km².

On January 1, 1972, Rothaurach was incorporated into Roth as part of the municipal reform.

The earthworks and civil engineering company Reithelshöfer on the outskirts in the direction of Abenberg is the only notable commercial enterprise besides the agricultural businesses. The shopping possibilities are limited to a bakery branch.
