Wollmannsberg is a group in the Altenfelden community in Upper Austria ( Rohrbach district ). The village has 41 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).

geography

Wollmannsberg is located in the west of the Altenfelden community in the Haselbach cadastral community. The place extends between the Kleine Mühl or the municipal boundary to Lembach in the Mühlkreis in the west and the town of Godersdorf in the west and north. In the south is the village of Mairhof . Most of the village is located on a hill above Godersdorf and consists mainly of several farms. To the west off the Kleine Mühl are the buildings Wollmannsberg 8 ( Kleemühle ) and 10 (Sagerer), the Wollmannsberg 11 building is roughly in between, surrounded by forest. In 2001 a total of ten buildings were counted for Wollmannsberg, ten of which had a main residence and 15 apartments or an equal number of households. There were also ten agricultural and forestry facilities and one job.

History and population

The place name Wollmannsberg was first mentioned in a document in 1397. It is derived from the personal name Wolmut or Volkmar. In the same year, the clover mill in the Tannberger Urbar was mentioned for the first time, its operation in 1956 was stopped. Since 1957, a sawmill with a small hydropower plant has been operated in place of the mill.

In 1869, 254 people lived in eleven houses in Wollmannsberg. Until 1910, the population hardly increased, with 55 inhabitants in ten houses in that year. All residents of the village were of the Catholic faith.
