history
Before the First World War, while plowing a field south of the detached Mayrhof farm, an ox sank. Investigations at the burglary site revealed that there was a cave with five round chambers under the field. The cave explorer Lambert Karner described the cave and made a cave plan.
Surname
The origin of the name is unclear. There are some attempts to explain it, e.g. B. a derivation of "Huns-shouting" or from "Herren zu Stein". Another attempt at explanation is the origin of the screaming of wild chickens in the wooded area. In the Latin-German dictionary Der kleine Stowasser you can find the derivation of “Hünenschrein” ( grave of a giant ) under folk etymology as an example of the adaptation of terms to the vernacular.
Infrastructure
The village has a volunteer fire brigade , an asphalt curling rink, a locksmith's shop, an electrician and an inn. The resident car and agricultural machinery dealer operates a hydroelectric power station built in 1920 and renovated in 1996, which according to official information generates 650,000 kWh of electricity annually .
