Joachim Stadler

Joachim Stadler (born January 15, 1970 in Mosbach ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

In his youth, Joachim Stadler played as a guest player of VfB Breitenbronn at SV Aglasterhausen, then at SV Waldhof Mannheim and FV Mosbach , where he played in the active association league team at the age of 17, then at SV Schwetzingen in the third-class league at the time.

Stadler began his Bundesliga career at 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the 1989/90 season under coach Gerd Roggensack . After only 14 days he suffered a serious knee injury with subsequent infection during the Intertoto game against Rapid Vienna and was out for almost seven months. With 1. FCK he won the German Cup in 1990 and the championship in 1991 . In his first two years as a professional, the 1.91 m tall defender played 20 games and scored one goal.

From 1991/92 Stadler played at Borussia Mönchengladbach and was in the first season with the team in the DFB Cup final, which they lost against Hannover 96 . In 1995 he was again in the cup final with Borussia and celebrated the cup victory after beating VfL Wolfsburg . Until 1997 he remained loyal to Borussia and scored one goal in 79 games.

In 1997, Stadler moved to SSV Ulm in 1846 in the Regionalliga Süd . He immediately made it to the 2nd Bundesliga with Ulm . In the 2nd division he played 29 times for Ulm. The Ulm march through to the Bundesliga in the 1998/99 season enabled the now 29-year-old Stadler to play first division football again. In his last Bundesliga season 1999/2000 he played 31 times and scored one goal, but could not prevent the direct relegation of SSV Ulm in 1846. He then moved to Greece for half a year. For the 2002/03 season he signed with the regional division FC Augsburg , but had to end his career in 2003 due to another serious knee injury.

Stadler played a total of 130 Bundesliga games and 47 second division games and scored a total of 3 goals. During his time as a professional at 1. FC Kaiserslautern and VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach, he completed 14 international matches with the U21 national team and scored one goal in the game in England.

From 2011 Stadler worked as a youth coach and has been head of the youth center at SV Sandhausen since 2013 .
