Unteredt is a scattered settlement (scattered houses) in the municipality of Altenfelden in Upper Austria ( Rohrbach district ). The village has 43 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).
geography
Unteredt is located in the southwest of the municipality of Altenfelden and in the southwest of the cadastral municipality of the same name. To the west of the Kleine Mühl and to the northwest is the district of Starz , to the northeast is the district of Hörhag and to the east or southeast is the village of Steinerberg . In addition, the village of Ebersdorf borders the municipality of Kirchberg ob der Donau in the south-west of Unteredt. Most of the buildings in Unteredt are on the Partenstein district road. The Irrer farm (Unteredt 7) in the northwest, the Hötzendorfer farm in the southwest (Unteredt 5) and the Schalenböck farm in the north (Unteredt 8) also belong to Unteredt. A total of 10 buildings were counted for Unteredt in 2001, with ten buildings having a main residence and 15 apartments or 15 households. There were also seven agricultural and forestry facilities.
history
The place name Unteredt is derived from the desert, the undeveloped land. In 1869 74 people lived in nine houses in the village. By 1910 the population sank to 60 inhabitants in ten houses. The Höllmühle (Unteredt 8) and the Mühleck-Mühle (Unteredt 10) once belonged to Unteredt. Today both belong to the village of Starz.
