Ensembles

Ensemble town center Buch

Around 1800 the old book ( location ) was an hour away from Nuremberg on Leipziger Strasse and known for its inns. Today the village is located to the west of the Erlanger Straße, which has been developed like a motorway, which helps to preserve the village structure. The village - without a church - was first mentioned in a document in 1283, and in 1427 it became the property of the imperial city of Nuremberg. Like many villages in the Nuremberg area, it was set on fire in the margravial war in 1552. In 1813, at the beginning of the Bavarian period, Buch became its own municipality and finally came to Nuremberg in 1924.

As the original cadastre from the early 19th century shows, Buch originally consisted of two separate districts, which can be traced back to the 20th century. The turning point caused by the Landgrabenbach can still be experienced today; the two halves of the town are connected by a stone bridge, between which a more recent, filling development was placed. The southern district lies outside the ensemble and shows only a reduced village character, due to numerous changes, new buildings, such as the special feature of a factory that has been in existence since the 19th century (Bast AG press yeast factory). With the factory, toddler school from 1905 (Seeweg 9) and the inn, this irregular part of the town had a certain, significant weight.

The northern district, which can still be identified as an ensemble, is more regular. He still has a long east-west axis, Braunsbacher Weg and Baststraße, which is crossed by Bucher Hauptstraße. The former Gasthaus Bucher Hauptstrasse 112, marks the old northern outskirts, and as a mighty street inn of the 17th century (labeled "1647") reminds of the old traffic route to Leipzig.

In Baststrasse, which is named after the factory in the southern half of the village, the typical structure of the vegetable-growing farmers of the garlic country has been preserved. Most of the farms also correspond to the situation recorded in the original cadastre in the new buildings. Gabled farmhouses, including examples of one-story buildings, and two-story solid buildings delimit the street scene. The courtyard, which is closed off from the street and consists of a group of farmhouses (Baststrasse 18/20/22), is remarkable. The Baststrasse not only offers a village street scene, but also conveys an effective village image from the outside, especially on the north side with a very closed row of barns. File number: E-5-64-000-5.

Ensemble village center Kraftshof

The village of Kraftshof ( Lage ), located in the north of the city in the so-called Knoblauchsland, was first mentioned in 1269 and belonged to the circle of individual farms that had to cover the economic needs of the royal court during the heyday of Nuremberg under the Hohenstaufen emperors. Grown early on into a village with numerous farmsteads, today it presents itself as an irregular complex, which has characteristics of the typical Nuremberg street village as well as those of a clustered village and is determined by the two poles of the church with the military cemetery and the castle of Messrs. Kreß von Kressenstein . This mansion has been in the same family without interruption since 1403 and was recently expanded as a typical Nuremberg baroque palace. After the war damage that hit Kraftshof, nothing has survived from this castle, only the remains of the so-called Kressenstein and the baroque garden wall. The churchyard with church was also destroyed in the war, but this area has been restored. The choir tower church of St. Georg (formerly St. Maria and Holy Cross), a construction of the 14th / 15th centuries, rises within the fortified fortifications with gates and corner towers. Century. It is surrounded by the characteristic recumbent Nuremberg gravestones with bronze epitaphs, which illustrate the historically close relationship with the old imperial city, into which the village was only incorporated in 1930. When Kraftshof was its own tax district and its own political municipality, the new schoolhouse was built in the churchyard in 1821, leaning directly against the fortifications. In front of the Kirchhoftor, the Kraftshofer Hauptstraße is widened and characterized as a kind of marketplace by stately two-story inns, sandstone blocks from the 18th century. Incidentally, in addition to sandstone cuboid buildings, there are also half-timbered buildings in the village; in addition to the smaller ground-floor houses with gable ends, there are also larger courtyards with two-story houses. File number: E-5-64-000-19.

Neunhof town center ensemble

The ensemble ( location ) encompasses the historic clustered village Neunhof and essentially consists of the fork in the street between the Upper and Lower Dorfstrasse including the Neunhof manor with palace garden. The earliest confirmed name of the village comes from the year 1326, but the village, which was originally developed as an extension of Kraftshof, must be older and it was probably the seat of an imperial ministerial family as early as the 13th century. Closely connected to the history of the free imperial city of Nuremberg, it also shared the fate of the Nuremberg area with the destruction in the First Margrave War of 1449 and also in the Thirty Years War. With the affiliation to Bavaria in 1813 and 1817 respectively, Neunhof had become a separate rural municipality, it was not incorporated into Nuremberg until 1972. The history of the village is determined by the history of the former manor of the patrician family Kress. This mansion is a particularly well-preserved example of a Nuremberg mansion, a type of building that still characterizes the entire cityscape of Nuremberg in a unique and characteristic way and also provides visible evidence of the importance of the city and its large families. The former moated castle, freely located on the south-eastern edge of the village, is surrounded by the kennel and a now dry moat, connected to it is a walled castle garden with a garden pavilion. Due to its location, the towering mansion with attached half-timbered upper floor with gable roof dwarf houses from around 1525 above a stone base of the 15th century is also visually impressive and visible from afar. The farm yard in the west connects the castle area with the farm. This irregular village is a characteristic example of the Nuremberg Knoblauchsland. Mostly ground-floor and gable-independent residential stables, mainly erected as sandstone blocks, accompany the streets and create closed street scenes. Most of the houses date from the 18th and 19th centuries, but there are a few interesting historical examples from the mid-20th century. At the fork of the Unteren and the Oberen Dorfstraße, a village square has only recently emerged through the removal of old properties, as a result of which the stately inn building Zum alten Forsthaus from 1747 gained a decisive urban impact. The village does not have its own church and belongs to the nearby parish of St. Georg in Kraftshof. File number: E-5-64-000-21.

Ensemble town center Großgründlach

The ensemble ( location ) includes the center of Großgründlach with the Großgründlacher main street between Mühlbach and the castle. (Groß-) Gründlach, first mentioned in a document from Emperor Heinrich II. In 1021, still clearly shows the more recent local expansion of the 13th / 14th in its town plan. Century. The narrow southern part of the main road towards the Mühlbach was generously continued to the north by an almost square-like extension of the road. This expansion extends to the castle, where a new castle was built by the Lords of Gründlach towards the end of the 12th century. This characteristic peripheral location of the castle / palace is still undisturbed today. Gründlach received town charter in 1328, but since there was hardly ever a permanent fortification, the place has neither gained the urban features of a town nor are traces of it recognizable. In the north and at the highest point of the village are the castle and church; the castle is now a four-wing complex with a mansard roof, which was built at the end of the 17th century. From the associated park, an avenue leads west to the former maze, it was created when the castle was the favorite seat of Johann Sigmund Haller von Hallerstein. Next to the castle is the parish church of St. Lorenz, which emerged from the castle chapel and was also given its shape from the end of the 17th century. Together with the former town hall, Großgründlach was a separate municipality until 1972, and a school building, it forms the focal point and the boundary of Großgründlach main street in the north. Significantly, not far from this historic monumental area is a stately inn, a rich sandstone block building from 1776 with outbuildings and gates from the early 19th century. The former bath house stands exactly at the narrowing of the historically younger and wider part of the street. This half-timbered building from the 17th century forms a historical memory and a very important urban point. In the narrow older part, a half-timbered building, the barn at Großgründlacher Hauptstraße 8, creates an effective urban focal point. The farmhouses or former farmhouses are seldom preserved as one-story, mostly they are now two-story and modern, but the characteristic gable position of the buildings has largely been preserved. File number: E-5-64-000-22.

Ensemble in the center of Reutles

The name of the former village of Reutles ( Lage ) recalls its origins as a clearing village. In the 18th century, the village belonged to the von Pfinzing manor of Großgründlach, which was inherited by the Haller von Hallerstein patrician family in 1764/66. The village of Reutles then had 16 properties; In 1811/18 it came to the community of Großgründlach, which in turn has belonged to Nuremberg since 1972. The image of the street village is shaped by the row of courtyards with ground-floor, gable-front residential stalls. The gable facades from the late 18th and early 19th centuries (decorative gable designations from 1796, 1802, 1811), which determine the townscape, have been preserved in large numbers, especially on the north side of Dorfstrasse. This building tradition is continued by rural properties from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The farmsteads are often closed off by a barn front. Parts of the orchards or cottage gardens adjoining the farms have been preserved. The town-planning accent and the oldest historical monument of the place is the small branch church of St. Felicitas, which may have been the local church in the 12th or 13th century, when today's Großgründlach church was still a castle chapel. Today it represents a very special old Nuremberg monument value through its building design of the so-called Swedish house type. The choir and nave go back to the 14th century. The church marks the outskirts of the small village, the appearance of which is seen from the east and is particularly well preserved on the north side. File number: E-5-64-000-26.

Remarks

  1. This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
