Ingeborg Psalter
The Ingeborg Psalter (French: Le Psautier d'Ingeburge ) (Musée Condé Ms. 9 Olim 1695) is a psalter that was made around the year 1200 for Ingeborg of Denmark , wife of the French King Philip II Augustus . This magnificent manuscript is one of the main works of French book illumination of the early Gothic period . Today it is in the Musée Condé in Chantilly .

The text of the 150 psalms in this work is written in the so-called littera psalteralis , a luxury book font, on 400 pages of parchment . The text is illustrated by a total of 51 gold miniatures .
Master of the Ingeborg Psalter
The name of the painter of the miniatures in the Psalter is not known, which is why experts use the emergency name Meister des Ingeborg Psalter . His three-dimensional representation of the figures and their expressive gestures highlight his work from the era and already point to stylistic elements that will then shape the early Gothic .
