Ingeborg of Kiev
Ingeborg Mstislawna von Kiev ( Russian Ингеборга Киевская ; bl. 1137) was a princess of the Kievan Rus , a member of the Rurikids dynasty and the wife of the Danish duke Knud Lavard of Jutland .
Life
She was the daughter of Grand Duke Mstislaw I of Kiev and Christina Ingesdotter of Sweden . In 1116 she was married to Knud Lavard in a wedding arranged by her maternal aunt, the Danish Queen Margarethe Fredkulla . In 1130 she tried unsuccessfully to prevent Knud from traveling to a meeting at which he was supposed to be murdered. In January 1131 their son Waldemar I of Denmark was born. In 1137 she refused the proposal of Christians Svendsen to declare her son monarch after the death of Erik Emune .
