Ingmar Schwindt

Ingmar Schwindt (* 1977 in Marktoberdorf ) is a German classical pianist.

Life

Ingmar Schwindt received his first piano lessons at the age of four from the concert pianist and piano teacher Sigrid Menner-Walger. At the age of 13, he was the youngest student at the time and was accepted into the piano class of Karl-Heinz Kämmerling at the Mozarteum Salzburg . He completed both the first phase of study and the master class with distinction and a grade of 1.0. He also attended master classes with Leon Fleisher , Dominique Merlet , John Perry and Joaquin Soriano .

Since 1984 he has won 16 first and 5 second prizes in piano competitions. Particularly noteworthy are the 2nd prize in the "International Tomassoni Piano Competition" 2001 in Cologne, the 1st prize in the international piano competition "Citta di Minerbio" in Italy in 2003 and the 3rd prize in the international piano competition "José Iturbi" in 2004 in Valencia. He also won first prize in the "Wartburg piano competition" in Eisenach 2003, first prize in the "Grotrian Steinweg piano competition" in Braunschweig in 1995 and first prizes at the national "Jugend musiziert" competition in 1990, 1994 and 1996. He participated in numerous competitions were associated with special awards, audience and orchestral awards, as well as radio and television recordings.

Ingmar Schwindt gives concerts in many places at home and abroad. He attracted particular attention with the Pilsen Philharmonic under the direction of Jiří Malát when he performed both piano concertos by Johannes Brahms in one evening in 2006 , and in early 2009 with the performance of the piano concertos by Schumann and Grieg, also in one evening. Ingmar Schwindt regularly devotes himself to interesting artistic projects, of which his five-part Beethoven cycle in 2008 and 2009 deserves special attention.

He has also performed with conductors such as Schmidt Gertenbach, Opela, Froschauer, Simonis and Altrichter and has played several times at major festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival , the “Musique-Alp” Festival in Courchevel / France and the Schwetzingen Mozart Festival . His chamber music partners include artists such as the pianist Oliver Kern, the soprano Viktorija Kaminskaite and the cellist Peter Buck ( Melos Quartet ).

In 1990, Ingmar Schwindt received the City of Kaufbeuren's Art and Culture Prize and the Dr. Dazert Foundation 2006. He was also a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation, the Jürgen Ponto Foundation, the “Live Music Now” foundation and the “Richard Wagner Association” Eisenach.

The artist already has more than ten years of teaching experience in piano solo, piano four-handed and in the chamber music field and is regularly successful with his students in competitions such as "Jugend musiziert", the "Bach Competition" in Koethen or the "Charles-Hennen Concours" represented in Heerlen (Holland) at national and international level. He was able to place many of his students in master classes with Bernd Glemser , Oliver Kern , Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy , Konrad Elser and Wolfgang Manz , among others , or successfully prepare them for study at German music academies. He also held masterclasses in the USA and Italy.
