Konrad Elser

Konrad Elser (* 1957 in Schwäbisch Gmünd ) is a German pianist and music teacher . Since 1992 he has been a professor at the Lübeck University of Music .

Life

Elser studied piano at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts with Paul Buck , Andrzej Jasiński and Oleg Maisenberg , whose assistant he was during his studies. Later he completed his training with Martha Argerich in Geneva as well as in various master classes , for example with Lew W Lassenko , Jörg Demus and Nikita Magaloff .

Initially he taught at the Stuttgart University of Music and at the Evangelical University for Church Music in Esslingen . Since 1992 Elser has been professor of piano and chamber music at the Lübeck University of Music . His students include Wiebke tom Dieck , Oliver Hasenzahl , Yorck Kronenberg , Ingmar Schwindt and Viktor Soos .

Since the Oberstdorf Music Summer was founded in 1993, Elser has given master classes there every year, as well as at the State Academy for young musicians in Baden-Württemberg in Ochsenhausen . As a soloist and chamber music partner, Elser has performed in concerts in other European countries, in South America, China and Japan. He has given concerts with renowned string quartets such as the Melos Quartet and well-known artists such as David Geringas and Ida Bieler, and has served as a juror at numerous international piano competitions .
