Viktor Sergeevich Yegerew
Viktor Sergejewitsch Yegerew ( Russian Виктор Сергеевич Егерев ; born November 18, 1923 in Botino near Moscow ; † April 20, 2016 in Moscow) was a Soviet-Russian architect. He is one of the most important architects of the post-war period in the Soviet Union and significantly shaped the architectural discourse of the time.
Life
In 1941, Yegerew graduated from school in Moscow and was drafted into the army . He lost a leg in the Battle of Stalingrad and was demobilized in May 1943. In 1944 he entered the Moscow Architecture Institute , which he graduated in 1950. After graduating, he worked in workshop No. 1 of the Mossoviet . He later worked as the head of Mosproekt-1 and Mosproekt-2 .
In 1972 he became secretary of the board of the Union of Architects of the USSR . From 1982 he headed the central scientific research institute for educational buildings. In 1988 he received the honorary title of Honored Architect of the People of the USSR , the highest honor for architects in the USSR. In total, only 45 architects were honored with this title.
He was buried in the Trojekurovo cemetery.
