Anniversary medal "In memory of the 100th birthday of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin"
The jubilee medal "For heroic work (for military heroism) To commemorate the 100th birthday of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin" ( Russian Юбилейная медаль "За доблестный труд (За воинскую доблесть) В ознаменование 100-летия со дня рождения Владимира Ильича Ленина" ) was a Award of the former Soviet Union , which was donated on November 5, 1969 on the occasion of Lenin's 100th birthday in two categories (military and civil) as well as a special edition for international communist citizens of the labor movement. The then Minister for State Security of the GDR was one of the Germans honored Erich Mielke , who received the award on April 30, 1970, and Walter Ulbricht . The medal has been awarded around eleven million times (around nine million civil and two million military awards).
Award terms
The award of the military category "For military heroism" was given to members of the Soviet Army , the naval navy , the troops of the Ministry of Interior and troops and organs of the Committee for State Security of the USSR, who in the course of the preparation for the anniversary excellent achievements in the political and the combat training and also had achieved high results in troop command and the maintenance of combat readiness. Appearance and wearing style

The lapel of the medal is different depending on the category awarded. The medal in the civil version shows on its upper edge the inscription ЗА ДОБЛЕСТНЫЙ ТРУД (For heroic (heroic) work) or ЗА ВОИНСКУЮ ДОБЛЕСТЬ ("For military heroism") in the military version and below the symbol of the hammer and sickle . Below these is the four-line inscription: В ОЗНАМЕНОВАНИЕ / 100-ЛЕТИЯ / СО ДНЯ РОЖДЕНИЯ / В. И. ЛЕНИНА (literally "In memory / of the 100th anniversary / since the birthday / of W. I. Lenin"). Below is a five-pointed star. The medal awarded to Walter Ulbricht is missing the inscription and the four-line text, hammer and sickle as well as star have been moved slightly upwards in the middle of the medal.
The medal is worn on the upper left side of the chest of the entrant above all other ribbon orders on a gold clasp to which a red ribbon is attached. The hem of the ribbon consists of a 2 mm wide golden edge strip. In addition, two 1 mm wide golden and vertically woven center strips were woven into the middle of the ribbon, which are 2 mm apart.
