Ingo Thiel

Ingo Thiel (born July 29, 1963 in Hanover ) is a German journalist, book author, PR and crisis manager. He deals with the field of passenger shipping.

Life

Ingo Thiel studied biology in Bielefeld and Hanover and specialized in marine zoology in La Jolla, California, and Brisbane , Australia. In 1989 he came to Norddeutscher Rundfunk in Hanover, where he worked as a reporter and presenter for radio and television. From 1992 to 1996 he worked as a reporter with international assignments for NDR 2 in Hamburg. He reported for ARD as part of the “People in Need” relief operation during the Yugoslav wars.

He then completed an apprenticeship as a crisis manager in Frankfurt am Main and Washington, and in July 1997 took on the position of Director Corporate Communications at Öger Tours in Hamburg. From 1999 to 2016 he was the managing partner of the Hamburg PR agency IT-PR, which specializes primarily in tourism. In 2014 he joined the international management consultancy lettinggo, which specializes in change and crisis management.

Thiel has also been working as a freelance journalist and author since 1996, his articles have been published in newspapers and magazines in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. His books have been published by Delius Klasing Verlag and Koehlers Verlagsgesellschaft and have also been translated into English, French, Spanish and Chinese.
