Ingolf Ericsson

Ingolf Ericsson (born May 5, 1951 in Almundsryd , Sweden ) is a Swedish professor for archeology of the Middle Ages and modern times, most recently at the University of Bamberg .

Ericsson was a research assistant at Kiel University from 1975 to 1985 . During this time, in April 1984 to be more precise, he was presented with a work entitled “From Slavonic Burgwall to German Gut. Study on the development of medieval settlements in the Futterkamp area, Holstein ”at the University of Lund . From 1985 onwards, he spent two years at the Baden-Württemberg State Monuments Office. He then became Associate Professor at the Institut for middelalderarkeolgi at the University of Aarhus in Moesgaard (Denmark) before he succeeded Walter Sage at the Chair for Archeology of the Middle Ages and Modern Times in Bamberg, which he held until his retirement in 2017.
