Ingrid Ahrendt-Schulte

Ingrid Ahrendt-Schulte (born Ahrendt; born April 1, 1942 ; † June 12, 2006 in Cologne ) was a German historian .

In 1996 she did her doctorate with Heide Wunder (Kassel). From 1994 she lived as a freelance historian and academic writer and as a freelancer for Westdeutscher Rundfunk in Cologne . From 1994 until her death she was active as a board member and city guide for the Cologne Women's History Association.

Ahrendt-Schulte was one of the most prominent representatives of the newer witch research . Her books and essays always tried a gender-historical approach. For the working group Interdisciplinary Witch Research she acted as co-editor of the volume Gender, Magic and Witch Persecution (series: Hexenforschung Volume 7).
