Ingrid Breckner
Ingrid Breckner (* 1954 in Mediasch ) is a German sociologist .
Life
She studied educational science and sociology at the LMU Munich . She did research on media education and urban development in Munich . After completing her doctorate in sociology at Bielefeld University , she taught in Weihenstephan , Munich and Bochum . In 1994/1995 she taught as a visiting professor at the University of Kassel . Since 1995 she has been a professor for urban and regional sociology in the course urban planning at the TU Hamburg , which was transferred to the newly founded HafenCity University from 2006 .
Her main research interests are suburbanization, social city, flight and migration, insecurity in European cities, mobility and strategies of integrated urban development.
