Ingrid Galster

Ingrid Galster (* August 2, 1944 in Krefeld ; † September 27, 2015 ) was a German Romance studies and professor at the University of Paderborn.

Life

Ingrid Galster studied Romance studies, German studies, philosophy and pedagogy in Düsseldorf, Duisburg and Aix-en-Provence after completing a commercial career and high school. In 1976 she passed the License in Lettresmodern, and in 1979 the first state examination for teaching at grammar schools. In 1984 she did her doctorate on the Jean-Paul Sartre Theater in the cultural-political context of the German occupation in Paris. In 1994 she completed her habilitation with a reception history topic from Hispanic Studies at the Catholic University of Eichstätt, where she worked as a research assistant and university assistant from 1982 to 1990. In 1987 she was DAAD guest lecturer at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá). 1991–1993 she received a DFG postdoctoral fellowship. After the habilitation, there were professorships in Kiel and Aachen and calls to Paderborn and Leipzig. From 2000 she was Professor of Romance Literature at the University of Paderborn.
