As interior Gäuhochflächen in Maindreieck which is natural spatial main unit 134.1 in the Gäuflächen in Maindreieck (134 About main unit) of the Mainfränkisches plates designated (main unit group 13). It is a mostly flat plateau that lies between the depressions of the Main Valley in the Main Triangle (so-called Middle Main Valley 133). In the north, the natural area is bounded by the Wern catchment area (134.0), which is also designed as a plateau, but with a few valleys. In the southwest of the Main, the Lindelbacher drift sand area (134.2), which has different soil compositions, is in front of the Main . The northwest is dominated by areas of the Wern-Lauer-Platten (135). The area is characterized by the plateaus on clay and loess loam soils . The southern part of the area is more severely divided by several smaller tributaries than the northern Gäuf area. Both natural spatial sub-units are heavily subject to arable farming, with the more densely populated Würzburg area already beginning in the west of the area .
