Inner carving

In the Middle Ages, half of the Upper Court Monastery was called the Inner Carving , the other half was called the Outer Carving .

Half of the high court had one of the 14 votes in the ten court federation, one of the three federations from which the canton of Graubünden emerged. The neighborhoods Klosters Platz , Klosters Dörfli , Serneus and Mezzaselva , all of which are now part of the municipality of Klosters-Serneus, were part of the Innerschnitz .
