Insight brought reports and information on people from journalism and PR. The editors themselves called the magazine a “people's magazine of the media industry”.

Insight appeared monthly and was published by Medienfachverlag Rommerskirchen GmbH, Remagen-Rolandseck, in which “ journalist ” also appeared until 2016. The editor-in-chief was Katharina Skibowski , who is also the publisher's managing director.
