Instalaza is a Spanish arms company. Instalaza was founded in 1943 and has its headquarters and production facility in Zaragoza . The company specializes in the development and manufacture of weapon systems and ammunition for the infantry . The product range today includes anti-tank weapons , hand grenades , rifle grenades and night vision devices .

Cluster bombs

By July 2008, when Spain is an international convention against cluster bombs with more than 9 single grenades joined, Instalaza made cluster bombs of the type MAT-120 ago. These were ammunition for 120-millimeter mortars, which released 21 smaller shells in an area of ​​sixty square meters. Parts that did not explode were automatically deactivated. According to Human Rights Watch , MAT-120 ammunition from production lines two and three of 2007 was used in the civil war in Libya in the battle for Misrata in early 2011 .
