MAT-120

MAT-120 is an artillery - cluster munitions for the 120-mm mortar .

The self-destructive and self-neutralizing carrier weapon distributes 21 shells . It was manufactured by Instalaza SA on Calle Monreal, 27th in Saragossa and continued to be sold after the order was canceled by the Spanish Armed Forces in 2007.

When Spain joined an international convention against cluster bombs with more than 9 single shells, production was stopped.

Misrata

Until July 2008, Instalaza manufactured MAT-120 cluster bombs. According to Human Rights Watch , MAT-120 ammunition from production lines two and three of 2007 was used in the civil war in Libya in the battle for Misrata in early 2011 . How the cluster bombs got to Libya is not clear.
