Institute for Brazilian Studies

The Institut für Braziliankunde ( IfB ), also Instituto de Brasilologia ( port. ), Is an institute in Mettingen, Westphalia . The institute is part of a registered association .

The institute has existed since 1969 , is part of the Franciscan Order in Germany and supports and promotes the work of the monks in the social and charitable field in Brazil .

Essential tasks are the publication of inexpensive information about Latin America and especially Brazil, the support of the landless movement and the church opposition.

The institute publishes the “Brazil Dialog”, a monthly magazine, as well as a press review and an annual data booklet.

The Brazilian customer publishing house and the Brazil Foundation are affiliated to the institute. The publisher publishes books on Brazil and Latin America, which appear primarily in the scientific series Aspects of Brazilian Studies and in the pocket book series bTb .

The IfB is a member of the European documentation network REDIAL .

The Comenius College is affiliated .
