Comenius College Mettingen

The Comenius College in Mettingen is a by JA Comenius called training College of the second forming path . It was created on June 8, 1972 through the takeover of the Brazilian order province of the Franciscan order ( Latin ordo fratrum minorum ; order of the minor brothers) and is located in the former secondary school in Mettingen.

The preparatory college for obtaining the assessment test (FSP) for students from all countries, especially Brazilian students, is affiliated to the Comenius-Kolleg for the acquisition of the technical and general university entrance qualification . The school is supported by the German-Brazilian Study Foundation St. Antonius. The current headmaster is Thorsten Bahlmann, who succeeded Father Osmar Gogolok. He had succeeded his brother, Father Serafin, who was the first director of the college. The library of the Scientific Institute for Brazilian Studies ( Instituto de Brasilologia ), which is also located there, is one of the largest specialist libraries on Brazil in the German-speaking area with more than 45,000 volumes.

The Comenius-Kolleg is attended by almost 200 students who want to acquire the (technical) university entrance qualification via the second educational path. The preparatory college is also attended by around 200 students.
