Lietuvių kalbos institutas is the state scientific research institute in the Lithuanian city of Vilnius , the main organization in the research of liturgical studies . The institute acts as a center for the dissemination of scientific research of the Lithuanian language , imparting the knowledge of the Lithuanian language and its scientific research. Since 2004 it has been a member of the Federation of National Language Institutes of the European Union (EFNIL), since 2003 a member of the International Information Center for Terminology (INFOTERM), since 2006 of the European Terminology Association (EATF), since 2005 a member of the European Lexicon Association (EURALEX) .

The beginnings of the Lithuanian Language Institute go back to 1930 and Juozas Balčikonis , who organized the editing of the Lithuanian Language Dictionary (Lietuvių kalbos žodyno redakcija) . back.

The seat of the institute is in Antakalnis .
