Integrin α-M (synonym CD11b ) is a surface protein .

properties

CD11b is a cell adhesion molecule and is mainly formed in dendritic cells , monocytes , macrophages and granulocytes . The protein complex of integrin α-M and integrin β-2 is involved in cell adhesion and endocytosis of complement- bound particles by binding to the RGD peptide in C3b . The complex also binds to fibrinogen (P1 and P2 peptides of the gamma chain), factor X and ICAM1 . CD11b binds calcium ions, is glycosylated and has disulfide bridges .
