Intense Football League
The Intense Football League (IFL) was a league for arena football in the United States that was founded in 2003. For the 2009 season, the IFL merged with United Indoor Football (UIF) and together founded the Indoor Football League (IFL). The Intense Football League league was then dissolved.

The IFL was founded in 2003 from six clubs that were initially based exclusively in Texas. The league began playing for the 2004 season.
In the following season in 2005, however, the IFL suspended for one season before starting a second attempt for the 2006 season.
After the 2008 season it was announced that the IFL, together with United Indoor Football (UIF), would open a community league called the Indoor Football League (IFL), which continues to operate to this day.
The IFL final was called the Intense Bowl .

2004 IFL season
Participating teams (6): Amarillo Dusters, Lubbock Lone Stars, Odessa Roughnecks, San Angelo Stampede, Corpus Christi Hammerheads, El Paso Rumble
In the debut season, the Amarillo Dusters won the title with a 62:47 win over the Lubbock Lone Stars in the Intense Bowl. 4,500 spectators saw the final.
IFL season 2005
The 2005 season has been suspended. The El Paso Rumble broke out again after only one season, Amarillo dared the af2 . Lubbock, Odessa, San Angelo and Corpus Christi joined the National Indoor Football League (NIFL).
IFL season 2006
Participating teams (6): Odessa Roughnecks, Corpus Christi Hammerheads, Louisiana Swashbucklers, CenTex Barracudas, San Angelo Stampede Express, Laredo Lobos
Intense Bowl winner was the Odessa Roughnecks. In the semifinals they knocked out Louisiana with 53:50, before they could win the final with 97:56 against the Corpus Christi Hammerheads.
2007 IFL season

Participating teams (8): Louisiana Swashbucklers, Corpus Christi Hammerheads, Frisco Thunder, Odessa Roughnecks, Katy Ruff Riders, San Angelo Stampede Express, CenTex Barracudas, Alaska Wild
For the season, the league was increased to 8 participants. Among other things, the Alaska Wild joined, the first American football team that ever operated in Alaska.
The Louisiana Swashbucklers won the final against the Corpus Christi Hammerheads with 46:27 and were crowned Intense Bowl Champion.
2008 IFL season

In the 2008 season, the IFL played the so-called National Indoor Bowl for the first time with United Indoor Football (UFL). The winner of the UIF meets the winner of the IFL.
The title again secured Louisiana, which closed the season with 14 wins and 0 losses. The final was won against Corpus Christi Hammerheads 66:35, but lost the National Indoor Bowl against the Sioux Falls Storm.
After this game both leagues merged and founded the Indoor Football League (IFL). The Intense Football League was dissolved.
