The Electronic Media Interest Group (IGEM) is a Swiss industry association. It was founded in 1998 in Zurich , Switzerland , as an association . Through its 43 member companies, IGEM covers the value chain in the electronic media TV, radio, cinema, online, video, audio, teletext and digital out-of-home: from media organizers and publishers to advertising marketing and media agencies on the demand side to the distributors and research companies.

The IGEM is committed to the diversity and transparency of electronic media in Switzerland.

A large part of the IGEM's focus is on research for all electronic media . On television , IGEM is involved in the TV planning tool of the AGFS (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Fernsehwerbung Schweiz) and on the Internet , IGEM holds shares in NET-Metrix AG. The IGEM is involved in the Advertising Statistics Foundation, which annually collects and publishes the net advertising expenditure in all media in Switzerland . The IGEM is represented in the most important bodies of Mediapulse for TV and radio research .

IGEM deals with digitization and its effects on commercial communication . Since 2014, the IGEM has published the digiMONITOR study annually together with the WEMF . The IGEM-digiMONITOR study surveys the use of electronic media and devices in Switzerland.

IGEM also advocates diverse possibilities and liberal framework conditions for commercial communication in the electronic media.

Board

The IGEM board of directors consists of twelve members: four from media agencies, six from advertising marketers and two from a media company.
