Intercantonal Association for Employee Protection
The Intercantonal Association for Employee Protection (IVA) is an association of the cantonal labor inspectorates of Switzerland and the labor inspectorate of the Principality of Liechtenstein . The work of the IVA is mainly based on the Labor Act and parts of the Accident Insurance Act with the corresponding ordinances.

The exchange of experience ensures the flow of information and coordination between the IVA and the Federal Coordination Commission for Occupational Safety , SECO and SUVA . The IVA sees itself as the mouthpiece of the cantonal labor inspectorates in the case of federal consultations on new laws and ordinances as well as in adjustments based on new findings on occupational health and safety . The IVA represents the interests of the cantonal enforcement authorities in the event of overriding problems. It prepares proposals, applications and reports on questions of employee protection for the attention of the federal government, the cantons and the associations. He coordinates the implementation of the legal basis in the cantons.
The promotion of employee protection at employers, employees, affected associations and social partners is one of the central tasks of the association. The IVA advises employees and employers and provides information on occupational health and safety.
