from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The International Center for the Prevention of Crime (ICPC) is based in Montreal and is the only global non-governmental organization (NGO) that is exclusively focused on crime prevention and social security.

organization

The International Center for Crime Prevention was founded in 1994 on the initiative of the French Mayor Gilbert Bonnemaison, the founding president of the European Forum for Urban Security . Members of the ICPC are both states and non-governmental organizations. The German Prevention Day from the Federal Republic of Germany is a member of the center.

tasks

The center was founded and developed in close partnership with the UN organizations UN-HABITAT and UNODC , which are also members of the ICPC. A central component of the activities of ICPC is the support of the exchange of knowledge and experience in international crime prevention. To this end, ICPC publishes an international report on current trends and developments in crime prevention every two years.
