International Council of Graphic Design Associations

ico-D , the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (formerly ICOGRADA) is the world umbrella organization for graphic design and visual communication . It was founded in London in 1963 and has been based in Montreal since 2005 .

Ico-D is an association of independent member associations from a total of 57 countries on all continents, which together form a global network. The national associations united in ico-D are committed to graphic design, visual communication, design management, design promotion and design training worldwide.

The association previously had two German presidents: Kurt Weidemann (1972–1974) and Helmut Langer (1989–1991). They were regularly on the board of the global umbrella organization for six years.

Michael Hardt was Vice President from 1995 to 1997.
