International Institute for Management Development

IMD - International Institute for Management Development is a private business school in Lausanne ( Switzerland ) that emerged in 1990 from the merger of two existing business schools. Its predecessors were training centers founded by companies primarily for the training of their own future managers: IMI, founded by Alcan in Geneva in 1946 , and IMEDE in Lausanne, founded in 1957 by the Nestlé group.

The IMD is EQUIS , AACSB and AMBA -certified and thus triple accredited (Triple Crown) .

Study programs

The college offers over 20 open courses in various areas of management for executives at every career level, an 11-month Master of Business Administration (MBA) and an Executive MBA (EMBA) program that spans 16 months or more Can stretch for years. In addition, tailor-made courses are set up in partnership programs for their relatives in cooperation with companies.

Research center

In addition to their teaching activities at the university and their consulting activities in business, the lecturers at the IMD also research current issues relating to global economic processes.

IMD World Competitiveness Center (WCC)

The IMD World Competitiveness Center has been investigating global competitiveness since 1989 and publishes the IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook with an international comparison of the competitiveness of national economies. It also publishes reports on country / region-specific competitiveness and organizes workshops on competitiveness.

Center for Corporate Sustainability Management (CSM)

The CSM accompanies companies on their way to more sustainability by means of strategic measures at the environmental and social level in order to secure a sustainable business advantage for the client.

IMD Family Business Center

Training programs are developed specifically for the needs of family businesses and are published in research reports, case studies, books and articles. The IMD - LO Global Family Business Award is given once a year to a global family company to honor its best practice .
