International Federation of Acrobatics
The International Federation of Acrobatics was the leading international association of acrobats until 1999 . It was founded in Moscow on November 22, 1973 . The then USSR was in the lead. The first president of IFSA was the Bulgarian Stoil Sotirov . The IFSA created binding competition rules and defined the disciplines. These included the competitions still existing today: women (couple), men (couple), mix (couple), women group (3 women) and men group (4 men) . The male and female jumping , which is no longer held today, was also included in the program . World championships were held until 1992. The venues were

From 1985 the IFSA was a member of the International Olympic Committee . Although this meant that acrobatics was recognized as a sport recognized by the IOC, it was not included in the Olympic program. The IFSA was dissolved in 1999 , since then acrobatics has been an official division of the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique and was incorporated into the (FIG).
