The International Visegrad Day is annually on 15 February at the initiative of the International Visegrad Fund and together with public media of the countries of the Visegrad Group ( Polish Television , Polish Radio , Czech Television , Czech Radio , Slovak Radio and Television , Hungarian Media Service Support and Asset Management Fund - MTVA) celebrated. It was founded on the basis of the agreement on cooperation between public service media organizations from the countries of the Visegrád Group in the field of multilateral cooperation between the media, signed on June 18, 2015.

The day commemorates the meeting of the Presidents of Poland ( Lech Wałęsa ), Czechoslovakia ( Václav Havel ) and Hungary ( József Antall ), which took place on February 15, 1991 in the castle ( Upper Castle ) of the Hungarian city of Visegrád .

The aim of the day is to highlight the historical and social ties of citizens and institutions in Poland, the Czech Republic , Slovakia and Hungary and to promote their current cooperation. The public service media from the Visegrád Group celebrate this day by broadcasting various programs that showcase the cooperation between these four countries and the common problems that often arise.

The first Visegrád Day was celebrated on February 15, 2016, the 25th anniversary of the meeting of the Presidents of Poland, Czechoslovakia and Hungary in 1991.
