The International Family Law Procedure Act (IntFamRVG) is a German law in the field of international family law .

In Germany the law was promulgated as Article 1 of the law of January 26, 2005 ( Federal Law Gazette I, p. 162 ) by the Bundestag with the consent of the Bundesrat . It came into force on March 1, 2005 in accordance with Art. 3 Clause 2 of this Act. Notwithstanding this, Section 12 Paragraph 3 and Section 47 Paragraph 2 came into force on February 1, 2005. It was last amended by Article 6 of the law of July 8, 2014 ( Federal Law Gazette I p. 890 ).

It refers to Regulation (EC) No. 2201/2003 (Brussels IIa) , the Hague Child Protection Convention and the European Custody Convention .

In Germany, the law determines, among other things, the Federal Office of Justice to be the central authority and lays down the local responsibilities, including the youth welfare offices , in order to initiate a cross-border repatriation of the child in the cases of the Hague Child Abduction Convention in cases in which one parent has a child of kidnapped from one EU country to another .
