Trivia

The winner Ion Țiriac traveled after his first round off at Wimbledon by train to Wolgast , where he missed the connecting train to Usedom . He then covered the 12 kilometers to Zinnowitz on foot. He also had a small transistor radio that Wilhelm Bungert had given him at Wimbledon.
